On 25th October 2012, Spasatel Karev, the first of four multi-purpose salvage vessels to be built by the Nevsky Shipyard LLC, Russia, has successfully completed acceptance trials.
Designed by Marine Engineering Bureau of St Petersburg, the 73 m x 16.6 m high Ice Class vessel met or exceeded all performance expectations, including a free-running speed of 15 knots and a bollard pull of 70 tonnes.
During the trials, special attention was given to vessel stability tests at different loadings.
Fluidmecanica has supplied the towing equipment with the following characteristics:
